Postal Code Barcodes
These proprietary codes were developed by and for various postal services. They are typically read by special high speed sortation scanners and by special Optical Character Reader (OCR) devices. The U.S. Postal Service is now using fluorescent "Bar/No Bar" codes on the backs of envelopes; these are being read by special sortation scanners at USPS facilities.
